Project Overview

The Mars Dry Factory Rebuild project involved the design of a multilevel industrial building. The structure stands at a height of 30 meters and offers floor space of approximately 12,000 square meters.

One of the primary objectives of the project was to ensure that the building design met strict food hygiene clean design requirements. Additionally, we were tasked with achieving Gold Star LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building design criteria. Our team accomplished this by designing a building that incorporates concrete composite floors, large portal frame structure, complex steel structure, precast panel core walls, pile and raft foundation design, and various vibrational sensitive mechanical platforms.

Baigents worked closely with our clients and other engineering professionals from inception to delivery, to ensure quality engineering design and service.

Key technical challenges

  • Large multilevel industrial structure with complex layout
  • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines to achieve design outcome
  • Design to satisfy food hygiene clean requirements
  • Design to satisfy LEED green building criteria
  • Design of mechanical platform for vibrational sensitive equipment and dynamic loads
  • 3D structural analysis design model
  • Structural design to accomodate complex industrial processes and mechanical services
